TRAVELSCOPE® Wins EMMY® for Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography

Los Angeles – June 17, 2011 – The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) tonight announced Travelscope, the PBS travel television series hosted by award-winning travel journalist Joseph Rosendo and now in its sixth season, as one of the winners of the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy® Awards.

In his acceptance speech from the podium at the grand gala for more than 1,000 attendees at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles, Zebediah Smith, Travelscope’s primary shooter, editor and production supervisor, said, “Thank you for the personal recognition. Yet, I also want to thank Julie and Joseph Rosendo and everyone associated with Travelscope, because it takes an entire crew of creative individuals to make an entertaining and culturally-rich show like Travelscope.”

After the awards ceremony, Joseph Rosendo, Travelscope’s Host and Executive Producer, offered the following remarks, “We are grateful that each week Travelscope has the opportunity to prove the words of Mark Twain that, ‘Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness’. My producer and wife, Julie Rosendo and I are grateful to Zeb and everyone that made this great honor possible — including the Academy members and PBS viewers everywhere.”
